In the game "Story," players find themselves in a world overrun by monsters and on the brink of being ruled by them. In an effort to reclaim its former glory, the empire is conducting mysterious research and activities. Despite this, many youth and races from the outlying regions are drawn to the empire and its cause, viewing it with high admiration.

As players embark on their quest, they must navigate the empire's true intentions and uncover the secrets behind their actions. To aid players in their journey, a FAQ is provided on the developer's page, which can be accessed through a link at the bottom of the page. It is also recommended to save game data via the internet to prevent loss in case of accidental deletion of local data.

Players are given tips for starting their quest, with occasional spoilers included. The first goal is to retrieve an item deep within the forest, while also facing a boss named Bruce. Once the item is obtained, players can leave the town and head to the nearest village, where they can befriend a character named Magenta. From there, players must head eastward, but cannot go south towards the empire just yet. They must first defeat a boss further east and reach level 10, equipping themselves well before the battle. Poison is recommended as an effective weapon against this boss. If players are able to obtain a specific item in the tower before defeating the boss, they can recruit a character named Temi at the town with a temple. After defeating the boss, players can also recruit a character named Lyn and head towards new lands south of the village.
