The dungeon in ShatteredPD is procedurally generated, meaning that each time a player enters the dungeon, the layout, room types, items, traps, and enemies will be different. This adds a level of unpredictability and excitement to each game. Players can find equipment and collect or craft consumable items to help them on their journey through the dungeon.

Players can also upgrade and enchant their equipment to make it more powerful. For example, they can set enemies on fire with an enchanted weapon, gain defensive benefits from upgraded armor, or use wands, rings, and magical artifacts for various damage, defensive, or utility benefits.

The dungeon is filled with enemies, traps, hazards, and bosses that are all trying to end the player's run. Players will encounter hostile wildlife, thieves, guards, and occult servants as they progress through the dungeon. The game can be challenging, but players are encouraged to keep trying and learn new strategies to eventually achieve their first win.

ShatteredPD is an open source game that was first released in 2012. It is based on the source code of another game called Pixel Dungeon. The developers started working on ShatteredPD in 2014 with the goal of rebalancing Pixel Dungeon, but it has since grown into its own game over the past 8 years.

Some of the features of ShatteredPD include five heroes with two subclasses, three endgame abilities, and over 25 talents. There are also over 250 items, including equipment, consumables, and items crafted through alchemy. The game has five dungeon regions, 26 floors, over 100 room types, and trillions of possible floor layouts. Players will encounter over 60 enemy types, 30 traps, and 5 detailed bosses. There are also optional challenges and over 100 achievements for completionists. The game is regularly updated with new content, fixes, and improvements, and it has a dedicated community that supports multiple languages.
