Upgrades is an application that allows users to automate production and increase the amount of items produced. This is done through various features such as Workers, Training, Tools, Research, Trinkets, Charms, and Equipment. Workers automate the production process, Training decreases crafting time, Tools speed up production and increase the chance of producing extra items, Research earns increased experience from crafting, Trinkets provide a chance for a speed boost after crafting, Charms give a luck boost when luck is not on the user's side, and Equipment automatically taps objects over time.

In addition to these features, Upgrades also offers additional features such as Goals, Talents, Prestige, Storehouse, and Expertise. Goals allow users to complete tasks and earn premium currency, while Talents allow them to level up their profession and unlock powerful upgrades. Prestige allows users to restart their profession and earn bonus experience while keeping all unlocked talents. The Storehouse feature allows users to contribute additional materials and objects to increase the maximum stash size. Expertise allows users to improve their stats the longer they play.

For more advanced users, Upgrades offers Specializations, Enhancements, and a Scrapyard. Specializations allow users to choose one of three unique bonuses, while Enhancements allow them to create custom tools. The Scrapyard feature allows users to earn scrap to upgrade their Storehouse.

Upgrades offers various professions such as Woodworking and Blacksmithing. Woodworking involves gathering wood to craft arrows, bows, and furniture, while Blacksmithing involves gathering ore and smelting ingots to craft weapons and armor.
